Saturday's clinic (the Byrd Park/free/co-ed one. I can't speak for RCWR) is not going to happen. Sorry to have to do this but we're getting hammered with rain in Richmond again, and the ground is already very soft from the last 2 weeks.
We use City of Richmond parks for all of our races and for our weekly Tuesday evening 'cross practice, and destroying the grass in a park that we do not race in, or have a permit for just isn't good PR for keeping our relationship with the City.
Charm City is next weekend, so it looks like there won't be a weekend clinic. We'll still be out every Tuesday at 6pm (weather permitting) starting the 20th.

Get ready for the upcoming 'cross season!
Bring yourself and your 'cross or mountain bike and learn some new skills. We're going to set up some barriers and a short "course" and work on flat and off-camber cornering, dismounts and remounts, and starts. We'll try to cover bike setup, tire pressure, techniques, and strategy if we can fit it in. Of course, bring your questions. We'll have a few Richmond-area 'cross experts on hand to be of assistance.

3rd Annual RCWR Women's Cyclocross Clinic

We are delighted to have Julie Kuliecza leading the clinic again this year.
There is no charge for the cinic if you are a USAC licensee. All others will be required to purchase a $5 one day event license.

Devil's Backbone Mountain 'Cross August 27, 2011
Back again this year with a shorter 49-mile option (in addition to the 66-miler) is the Devil's Backbone Mountain 'Cross.
It's not a race, not a Gran Fondo, not a road ride, and not a cyclocross ride. It's just hard and fun. Pavement and gravel surfaces that require low gears, good tires, and bike handling skills. Need I say more?
Cyclocross bikes are ideal, but all bikes are welcome (you might want to leave the recumbent home, however.) Road bikes have been used in the past, but use your best judgment on this one.
